A unique celebration of the tastes, sounds, sights and aromas of Eswatini and the Southern African region, the Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival is a sensory experience unlike any other.

Set on the lavish lawns of the House on Fire Sculpture Garden against a breath-taking backdrop of endless cane fields and rolling hills, Luju showcases the diverse and often hidden flavors tucked away in the cultural crevices of Africa. The festival also celebrates the dynamic textures, striking prints and vivid colors that the continent has to offer. Our carefully curated and authentically African program features cooking demos and masterclasses by seasoned chefs in the region, high-end African fashion, arts and design, as well as some exciting music performances by artists from Eswatini, South Africa, Mozambique and beyond.

The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival is certainly not to be missed by food enthusiasts, culture buffs and travelers looking for a unique and sophisticated African-vintage event that celebrates the local, the wholesome, the creative, and the delicious.

Luju is brought to life by the House on Fire team, backed by Standard Bank; a leading global brand in finance and investment whose African heritage goes beyond 150 years. Guests are treated to top-notch production, an all-star line-up, and an experience that creates poignant memories to last a lifetime.

Through its African vintage theme, Luju pays homage to Africa´s rich heritage and celebrates the continent´s undisputed beauty and style. This year´s theme, "A Return to the African Future" inspired creative fashion designs that celebrated Africa´s colourful traditions and diversity, while incorporating trendy, modern elements.

Luju is a journey of the senses. Our ears are awakened by sounds inspired by Miriam Makeba´s township jazz or Fela Kuti´s hip swaying afrobeat music and modern electro beats that electrify the dance halls of Mali and Sophiatown.

The Luju Festival is certainly well on its way to becoming a regional hub and melting pot of different ethnicities.

Weekend add-on experiences including glass-blowing and candle-making showcases to be put on by Ngwenya Glass and Swazi Candles, as well as a traditional dance show at the nearby Mantenga Cultural Village, will make for a culturally rich and memorable Swaziland experience for all Luju visitors.
